Dr. Sherman's main focus for her family practice is reduction of health risk factors associated with disease. She also focuses on preventing any worsening of a current medical condition. Dr. Sherman often recommends some daily nutritional supplements as well as regular exercise and a well balanced lifestyle.
Family practice patients may schedule an appointment with Dr. Sherman at their convenience. Scheduled appointments help prevent extensive waiting times, although some waiting times may occur. Typically 15-30min. If there is an emergency or more prevalent issue patients may also see Dr. Sherman through the Walk-In Clinic, however longer delays may be expected.
Family practice patients are asked to schedule their annual physical appointments on Thursdays. Each patient is entitled to one complete physical examination annually and focused physical examinations during regular appointments any day the clinic is open. Patients are encouraged to call ahead in order to received a convenient appointment time.
Family patients are asked to remember that prior to the annual physical examination, they need to fast for 12 hours (not eating or drinking anything but water for taking regular medication) so that blood testing in the medical lab can take place on the same day.
Please note that lab test results are not provided over the phone. All results will be reviewed by Dr. Sherman once they arrive and patients that receive questionable results will be contact by phone to schedule an appointment. At that appointment Dr. Sherman will discuss the results and recommend a treatment plan. Patients are advised to schedule an appointment after doing any tests, e.g. Bloodwork, Mammo, bone density
to discuss the results with Dr. Sherman. Patients with test results that come back normal will not be called to schedule an appointment. It's assumed that if a patient is not phoned their test results came back normal.
